Our Lady of the Rosary Empty Our Lady of the Rosary

Our Lady of the Rosary Brixto10

Several rumors surround this unremarkable church.

Whilst being a well-attended roman catholic church only a few months ago, it appears to now be private property (even though nothing indicated a sale). It seems that there are still night sermons held though, invitation-only.

It also appears that someone re-opened the old cemetary, which had been closed for generations.

Other rumors state that regardless of day (or night) time, suspicious figures of the most different circles seem to enter the church - often enough trough the back. They appear as businessman, lunatics, homeless and the-guy-from-next-door.
All this wouldn't be surprising for a church, if it weren't for the feeling these people instilled. A feeling of dread, often increased by a cold gaze or almost paranoid awareness. And of course, the grave wounds some of them bear. And the screams, that nearby neighbors claim to be hearing occasionally.

One specific rumor - almost a fact by now it seems - haunts the gossip of those who stalk the night. It regards the church as a shelter for almost all kinds of beings, where they can find care, information or neutral ground. Cheap, and no strings attached.
Or so the saying goes.

Our Lady of the Rosary Empty Re: Our Lady of the Rosary

As nightfall came, someone rose in the tower.

Or rather rolled out of bed and onto the floor in an uncaring manner, face-first. I hate this place. Slowly rising to her feet with a zombie-like groan, she shambled across the room towards a nearby fridge, grabbing a moldy cup along the way. Why did I even have to come here? She opened the fridge and took out a milk carton. You know why, Caterina, and you hate them for it.

Something red and thick poured into the cup.

A few minutes after your refreshing beverage, you hear a knock at the door. A second later you realize that to hear someone rapping at such a large door in your quarters would mean they are knocking rather hard. A few seconds pass, and the knock comes again, even louder this time, the raps coming more hurriedly. Clearly, whoever is at the threshold is not keen on waiting, and before you have time to react the bangs come again, more and more insistent and less and less polite with each passing second.

Cup in hand, Caterina started to shamble across the room, down the tower and towards the main portal, all the way mumbling, grumbling and groaning. Making a fuss this time of the night... who do they think they are? Passing by a side door from where loud chainsaw whirring and the insane laughter of a girl could be heard she thought: I guess the little one has too much fun to open the door. Again.

Finally arriving at the front door, she didn't even bother to straighten out her coat or brush of her "bed hair", as she called it. With an unceremonious pull, eyes devoid of both empathy and life and her half-emptied cup in hand, she forced the door open. "Yes?"

As you open the door, you come face to face with a young man, no older than twenty, arm still extended mid-knock. With one further look you gather he is one of the kindred, a younger specimen if you were to guess, though judging age by appearance was never particularly reliable when it came to the undead.

As the door opens, you can tell he hears the chainsaw. His face scrunches, and instinctively he takes a step backwards, his eyes growing wide with the first splashes of fresh fear. Steeling himself, however, he halts his retreat and steadies himself.

You can tell he has been through some ordeal. It is not particularly difficult to deduce, he is covered in blood. Whether it is his or some third party's couldn't be said, but the four kitchen knives sticking out of his torso at wild angles implied the former, and the fact that his suit was now more blood red than charcoal grey made the severity of the incident very clear.

He speaks after a moment, a slight gurgle and a definite quiver to what would likely be a confident and attractive baritone. The words tumble out in a rush, nerves and fear likely causing him to lose his composure.

With a sigh she steps aside, letting him enter. "Try not to bleed all over the mosaic, I'm in the middle of resetting it." The floor past the main portal seems to be covered in a partly finished mosaic, featuring some biblical (?) scene.

Closing the door behind the vampire, Caterina leads him into a side-building. One half of the room appears to harbor some very basic medical gear - amongst other things. The other half is concealed behind a plastic curtain. It is safe to assume that it is a mirror of the first half. From behind the curtain, the chainsaw screams.

"BEATRICE, TURN IT DOWN! I HAVE WORK TO DO!" The whirring immediately stops. For a moment there is only silence, then the fast patter of small feet and the sound of something tearing through the air, resulting in a blood-splattered girl glomping into Caterina, almost tumbling her over. "I'll uh.. I'll just work around her. She probably won't let go for an hour or so. Her arms don't tire, you know? Anyways, go have a seat over there, will you?", she says, directing the vampire onto a plain metal table. "Do you want to tell me anything about this or shall we see what i can unravel? I'll find out, eventually."

The man sits on the table, and after a shaky few breaths falls back onto it, fortunately managing to not land on any of the knives still embedded in him. He speaks after a second, his voice still clearly marred by the severe pain.

"W-well, I got jumped b-by a dozen or s-so mortals, all c-chavs and lowlifes. B-but they were too fast, too fast for m-mortals, and strong too. They were walking, and I was walking, and then they all just turned and c-came at me. I barely got a-away alive, I h-hid in a dumpster, and when they lost s-sight of me th-ey must have j-just left or something"

He is clearly put off by the hugging girl, and absentmindedly shifts his weight with a gasp to keep pressure of a particularly bad slash on his lower back.

After having him answer some more questions, Caterina sighs and sets her cup down. A coincidence? Possible. Unlikely. She turned her head to face Beatrice, who was still clinging onto her. "Now, I know you do not like to leave Mommy alone, but I need you to go and change your dress. The two of us are going out." Slowly, so very slowly, Beatrice let go of Caterine and started edging towards the door, her eyes ever resting at the wounded vampire.

Her "daughter" finally out of the room, Caterine turned her back on her patient. "I normally would refrain from doing this without serious need and compensation, but thanks to you I have some business to attend to. Now, behold the power of Our Lord." She then pulled her mask down and blowed into her left hand palm. Some gauzy substance flowed from her lips into her hand, like mist glowing from within, and formed into a floating orb. Pausing for a moment before turning around, she covered her face with the mask again. "Do not worry. It will only hurt for so long.", and directed the orb towards the vampire's chest, his panic reaching new heights.

Immediately after the orb entered his body, he started to twitch and twist in an uncontrollable manner, as alien energy surged through his body, mending flesh and setting bones.
It was over in mere seconds, and the now healed vampire was laying on the table, barely conscious. Typical. Caterina picked up her cup, downing it's contents and setting it aside. (to this day, noone knows how she manages to drink with the mask on) She then flicked her head to the side, bringing her hair in order.
Oh Lord, guide us through the first part of this play. "Beatrice! We are leaving!" She turned her head towards the vampire lying on the table. "As should you be. Praise the Lord and rejoice, for thou hast been healed. And know that you have stepped on Sanctified ground. You would do well to remember the benevolence those truly Sanctified bestow upon their fellow kindred - and the powers they command through the grace of Our Lord, for we are not like the heretics this city harbors."

The patient's eyelids flutter, and as he lays back and begins to slip into the healing arms of unconsciousness, his mumbles  become less and less coherent.

"Yeah, praise jesus'n sanctify whatevr..."

He finally drops into a deep sleep, a faint shade of health refilling his stretched, gaunt and terrified features.
